The film clip looked okay to me. Yes, it is not realistic. But keep in mind the general public has no clue what these kids really do. I remember the AD at my middle school asking about my daughter, "If she is so athletic, why doesn't she play a real sport like basketball or volleyball?" And, yes, he really did say that- directly to me. Another person I work with commented on her floor routine, "Wow, was that a double?" Duh, yes, and how do you think she got a scholarship if she couldn't at least do a double back? Another teacher asked me, having just watched a few girls do an acrobatic dance in the talent show, "Can your daughter do that, too?" I did not even respond. She could do a RO back tuck when she was about 7 or 8. Since the general public knows so little about the reality of gymnastics, the series will look pretty good to most of them. I am more interested to see how they handle the relationships, child to child, parent to child, coach to parent or child, coach to coach.
