Per Bama's twitter account, I saw that Sarah Patterson just got her 1,000th career win at the Seattle regional, making her the second coach in NCAA history to reach 1,000 career wins. Marsden was the first, earlier this season in a dual meet. 1,000 wins. That's insane. It just shows the consistency reliability, longevity and performance under pressure these two have had over their 35 + year careers. Both are masters at getting their teams to peak at the right time, thus getting their teams to nationals every year, and Bama and Utah have won more Regional championships then any other schools.
I just though I'd give a shout out to two of our sport's great coaches as they get ready to duel it out for another NCAA title. Also, on a side note, Patterson is the fastest coach to reach 1,000 wins, which is pretty cool.
