She's doing two releases in the bar routine, which look like a straddle Jaeger and a piked Jaeger. Her beam routine had a stuck double back dismount. Great routines! My Gymnastics Blog

Registered Member Posts: 1300 02/07/12 06:38 PM Super Gym Fan	is that Lothrop had straight arms in all her skills, from this angle that i could see, even both her release moves she caught with straight arms. What i'm not impressed with, is a 9.95 from the judges, in the other routine, with bent arms in skills, even in the giants. We always got .1 off for that alone. Love Zamo though. Her lines are great! Both these routines are very solid, and both have obvious flaws - Lothrop doesn't have the extended shoulders that Zam has, and has some knee and foot form issues. Zam's routine is lacking big release difficulty right now, her Maloney has zero backswing, which should be at least a full tenth deduction, and her dismount, while pretty and secure has little amplitude. Zam has mind-numbingly good shoulder extension, and the best straddle to dead handstand in all of gymnastics. Corrie's set has good powerful swing and is exciting to watch. I wouldn't go 9.95 on either set at this point, but they were both very good sets.

Bala and SEC gym, thanks for being specific as to what the perceived issues were on those routines. To me, if the gymnast lands upright, it is a hit routine...well I'm not that bad, but close. Elucidating what deductions are is useful to those among us who are average fans and have never been gymnasts or involved in coaching
